Thomas Conteh, a KNSL scholarship recipient and former head boy at our primary school—the Sam Abu Memorial Pre and Primary School in Pujehun Town—is now a student at the prestigious Bo School (founded in 1906). He represented his home country, Sierra Leone, during a Pan-African exchange programme in Ghana, hosted by the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS), which was established in 1909. This Ghanaian initiative aims to foster unity, peace, and cooperation among African nations through academic and cultural exchange.

Thomas is welcomed with applause by the students of the Ghana Secondary Technical School.

Thomas, who hails from Pujehun District, is the son of Reverend Mustapha Conteh, a respected teacher at Saint Stephen’s Secondary School in Gobaru—a small town in Pujehun District. He takes pride in being the first student from Sierra Leone to participate in this Pan-African exchange programme—a testament to his dedication, outstanding academic performance, and leadership qualities.

In an interview with the social media channel MATURE MEDIA EMPIRE, based in Pujehun, Thomas expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the governments of Sierra Leone and Ghana, the administration of Bo School, and everyone who made his participation possible. “It is a great honor for me to represent my country and Bo School here. This exchange will help strengthen the bonds among African students and inspire us to work together toward a peaceful and united Africa,” he stated.

The Pan-African exchange program is a beacon of hope for young Africans. It is aimed at a generation that values education, leadership and role-model qualities, and the unity of the continent.
